New Jersey is getting ready to change it's laws governing massage therapists. It will cost me over $5,000 to keep everything current. Since that's not my focus at this point in my life, I have decided to sell my massage table.

I am willing to travel to Delaware, Atlantic City, Philadephia, and/or Trenton and anywhere in between. I'm willing to meet with people from the NYC area, if they are willing to come halfway.

It's the Custom Craftworks Athena Pro Package

30" wide

73" long

The height is adjustable from 25"-35"

weight is 32lbs

UL listed for 650lbs, dynamic load

The table has been used less than 30 times, and still has that new massage table smell.

It comes with the table, posi-tilt face rest, face cushion, a round bolster, and a half a gallon of BioTone Massage Lotion.

I'm asking $300.

If you're interested, please contact me at nikikate12@yahoo.com, and I'll send you pictures and make plans to meet.

Thanks!

I am a massage therapist in WI and I am conducting a research project on the experiences of people of size and massage.

If you are a massage therapist or bodyworker, I want your opinions! Please consider answering the survey below.

I will be presenting the preliminary data from these surveys at a national convention in July. The survey should take between 15-30 mins. If you have any feedback on the survey or would like to know what the results are when I am finished please let me know. If you would rather complete the survey on paper, I have them available as well.

Please feel free to pass the link on to anyone who may be interested.
Thank you for your time,
Eileen

I am working to open a family healing arts center in my community to provide a spectrum of care for infants to adults, including midwifery, craniosacral therapy, chiropractic, parent groups, childbirth ed, and workshops. My passion is craniosacral, doula care, teaching, and community organizing.

This will happen within the next year, and I am currently gathering resources, developing my business plan, and working with local community small business resources to create a solid plan and support system. I also have practitioners interested and a space lined up for 2009.

I am also a hoopdancer and teacher, and I am in a contest to win $10,000 for my hoopdance video: Gemini Hoops. http://www.clipstar.com/videopage.jsf?video=9_7002_159

Will you please vote for my video and help to fund the creation of my healing arts center? I am currently in 2nd place, and if I win this contest, it will go toward to creation of my family healing arts center and community healing project.

Thank you! I greatly appreciate your support! Your vote counts, please show your support!

Gratitude & Blessings, Kara

I have a client who has some traits that I can not stand.   I dred working on him and find it hard to act like I am interested in anything he has to say.  Here's the big problem:  he is cocky about himself and he talks poorly about his wife and her physical pain.  His wife is one of my favorite people.  I have tried to ask him to focus on his breathing, talk to me about him and not her,  and all that jazz they try to teach you in school.  I am pretty sure he either thinks I enjoy his conversation or he is so oblivious.  Suggestions?  So far I have been able to throw people out of my room, explain how it is unacceptable to no show, and collect on a bad check (took me 6 months).  So I am not afraid of standing up to people, but this is hard because I just don't like him.

I'm not sure if anyone would know the answer to this because it might be different depending where you live. Anyways, I was wondering what the laws are in "teaching" your clients different techniques to do themselves in the interem?
Also, what about showing them techniques they can do with their children?

The below is cut directly from an email I received from ABMP. Fortunately, I saw this email last week and was able to recognize the name/phone number when I received a voicemail this afternoon. I'm so glad to be part of a community of professionals that watches out for each other...

X-posted to a few communities.
